- Clean the sealing surface (1) on the oil pan with the special tool 0 495 103 (11 4 471) and the special tool 0 495 104 (11 4 472) .
- Clean the sealing surface (1) with brake cleaner.

The processing time of the liquid sealing compound can be at a maximum of 10 min.
Commissioning of the assembly is not possible until 25 minutes after the processing time.
Non-observance can lead to leaks in the assembly.

- Apply a sealing bead along the inner edge (1) of the oil pan.
- Completely surround the oil return orifice (arrow) with the sealant.
The sealant must not enter the oil return orifice.

The special tool 11 8 780 is only required when the transmission is removed.

- Position the special tool 0 496 120 (11 8 780) with the transmission bolts (1) in such a way that the oil pan aligns exactly with the timing case cover.
- Replace the centering sleeves where required.

- Note the correct screw length.
- Install screws that correspond to the original length.
- Make sure that the correct
screw (2) (M8x40) is used to attach the oil pan to the transmission.
The screw (1) (mounting bolt of the starter motor) must never be used to attach the oil pan.
- Thread in the oil pan carefully and position.
- Tighten all screws (2) to (20) of the oil pan hand-tight.
- Tighten all screws (1) hand-tight.
- Tighten all bolts (2) to (20) of the oil pan.

- Tighten transmission screws (1).

- Insert and install the holder (3).

- Secure the positive battery cable (4) at the clamps (5).
- Connect and lock the connector (3).
- Make sure the connector (3) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the holder (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).
