- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT RIGHT WHEEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CHARGE AIR DUCT BETWEEN THE EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER AND THE CHARGE AIR COOLER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER FOR THE ENGINE AT THE FRONT .

- The use of the specified special tool (tool) is mandatory.
- Carry out the described steps properly.

- Reduce preload as far as possible before disassembly. Relieve component.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
If the drive belt is reused: Mark the direction of rotation and reinstall the drive belt in same direction of rotation.
If the drive belt is reused: Mark the direction of rotation and reinstall the drive belt in same direction of rotation.

Replace drive belt if it is contaminated with coolant and oil residue.
Replace drive belt if it is contaminated with coolant and oil residue.
- When reusing drive belt: Mark the direction of rotation.
- Elevate preload of the belt tensioner on the hexagon head (1) in direction of arrow until the bore holes align.
- Secure the belt tensioner with the special tool 0 496 268 (11 0 390) .
- Remove drive belt (1).
