Removal of intermediate shaft with support tube from transfer box (VTG)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove front underbody protection.

Removal: 

Loosen screws (1).

Remove air duct

Loosen screws (1).

Pull the intermediate shaft with the support tube (1) out of the transfer box (VTG).

Installation: 

Coat gearing of intermediate shaft uniformly with 5g grease.

Grease: Lubricating grease Optitemp HT 1 LF, part number 83 23 0 417 754

Install the intermediate shaft with support tube (1) in the transfer box (VTG).

Important: 

Note the correct screw length! Screw M8x35 8.8

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 31 60 3AZ .

Install air duct.

Tighten down screws (1).

• Install front underbody protection.
