- Do not pull on the electrical wastegate valve controller or on the coupling rod.
- Apply force only at the turbine housing and exhaust manifold.
- Do not pull on the compressor housing.

- Adhere to the utmost cleanliness.

- Close off line connections with seal plugs.

The sealing surfaces must be free of oil, grease and cleaning agents.

- Clean the sealing surface (1) using special tool 0 495 102 (11 4 470)

- Check stud bolts (1) and (2) for damage and replace as needed.

- Replace the nuts (1) and bolts (2).

- Hand-tighten nuts (1).
- Hand-tighten the bolts (2).
- Tighten the nuts (1) and bolts (2).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Exhaust turbocharger to cylinder head M7

Initial filling with the additive when replacing the exhaust turbocharger
NOTE:

Dry running due to insufficient initial filling of the exhaust turbocharger .

- Be sure to do the initial filling when replacing the exhaust turbocharger.
- Fill the exhaust turbocharger with the matching additive (see applicable BMW parts catalogue).
- Fill exhaust turbocharger additive (1) into the bore (2) of the oil feed line.CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
Exhaust turbocharger additive, gasoline MSP 17 ml, Tube 83192457276 - Connect and lock the connector (1).
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
