72 11 096 Removing and installing/replacing rear left or right lower strap (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Installation note: 

• Clean all threaded belt connections  with micro-encapsulated outer and internal threads.
• Shavings or other debris must not remain in the components.
• If a microencapsulated screw is reused, it must be coated with the following screw locking agent: Loctite 243, medium strength. 
• The screw connection must be completed within 10 minutes as hardening begins after this period.

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove the rear seat. Refer to 52 26 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) or 52 26 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT BENCH (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .

Removal: 

Press upholstery (1) slightly to one side.

Remove screw (2).

Remove lower strap lining (1).

Installation: 

Feed in lower strap (1).

Press upholstery (1) slightly to one side.

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 23AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install rear seat. Refer to 52 26 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) or 52 26 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT BENCH (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .
