72 11 041 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right lower strap (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Installation note:

Clean all threaded belt connections with micro-encapsulated external and internal threads.
Shavings or other debris must not remain in the components.
If a microencapsulated screw is reused, it must be coated with the following screw locking agent: Loctite 243 of medium strength.
The screw connection must be completed within 10 minutes as hardening begins after this period.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove front seat. Refer to 52 13 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) and 52 13 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, PASSENGER'S SIDE (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .

Removal:

Cut open cable tie (1).

Unlock the detents and guide the connector (2) out of the connector housing (3) in the arrow direction.

Detach cable (1) from seat mechanism.

Release fixture (1) from seat mechanism.

Remove screw (2).

Remove lower strap lining (3).

Installation:

Mount lower strap (3) on seat mechanism.

NOTE: Lower strap is encoded against incorrect assembly (3).

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 5AZ .

Mount cable with clip (1) to seat mechanism.

Feed in cable (1) to seat mechanism.

Guide the connector (1) into the connector housing (2).

NOTE: Ensure correct locking.

Secure cable to connector housing (2) with cable tie (3).

Required follow-up work:

Install the front seat. Refer to 52 13 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) and 52 13 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, PASSENGER'S SIDE (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .
