The wiper arm must not tap the windshield or the rear window without a wiper blade. Otherwise the windshield or the rear window could be damaged.

In the event of a customer complaint regarding the cleaning or wiping performance or noise generation (windshield wiper judder, squeaking) by the wiper blades, proceed as follows:
Check whether the customer complaint is caused by contamination (preservation wax in new vehicles, tree resin or other environmental influences) on the windshield. If necessary, thoroughly clean the windshield.
Replace the wiper blades if cleaning the windshield fails to remedy the situation.

- Remove ID transmitter (ignition key).
- Fold out wiper arm (2).
- Open the lock (1).
- Remove wiper arm (2) from wiper blade (3) in direction of arrow.
