Removing the selector lever

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Pull off the retaining ring (1) in an upward direction.
- Move the selector lever (1) all the way to the front.
- Press the lugs (1) of the connector (2) and pull out the connector (2).
- Using pliers (2), grip the plastic guide of the connector (3) at the top.
The wiring harness must not be pinched or damaged in the process.
- Release the plastic guide of the connector (3) from of the detent towards the rear.
- Carefully pull the plastic guide of the connector (1) upwards out of the detent using gentle back and forth motions.
The plastic guide remains on the wiring harness.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Pull the selector lever (1) up vertically with a powerful jerk.
- Make sure that the selector level (1) does not turn when it is detached.
