61 31 172 Removing and installing/replacing switch for electromechanical parking brake (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Preliminary work needed: 

• DISCONNECT  cable from battery earth lead
• Partially remove the CENTER CONSOLE TRIM .

Removal: 

Unlock and disconnect connector (3).

Undo all screws (1) if necessary.

Remove switch for electromechanical parking brake (2).

Installation: 

Position switch for electromechanical parking brake (2).

Tighten all screws (1).

Tightening torque 61 31 4AZ .

Connect connector (3).

Required follow-up work: 

• Install the CENTER CONSOLE TRIM .
• Connect BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
