61 31 068 Removing and installing/replacing switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

WARNING: Read and comply with SAFETY REGULATIONS for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt pretensioners.
Failure to observe correct procedures can deploy the airbag and cause injuries.

Preliminary work needed: 

Removal: 

Unclip the trim (1) outward from the clamps (2).

Feed the trim (1) out of the trim (3).

Unlock both detents on switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1).

Remove the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) from the cover (2).

Installation: 

Join the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) and the cover (2).

NOTE: Make sure the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) is correctly positioned and has engaged with the detents of the cover (2).

Insert the trim (1) into the trim (3).

Clip in the trim (1) using the clamps (2).
