33 10 900 Replace the longitudinal torque distribution control unit (Countryman models with AWD, except PHEV)

Attention! 

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) !

Preliminary work needed: 

• Read out the individual data from the control unit.

ISTA/P -> LMV control unit exchange

Removal: 

Loosen screws (1).

Remove cross member (2) on rear axle support.

Disconnect plug (2).

Loosen the connector (1) and loosen the cable (3) from the control unit bracket.

Loosen screws (4).

Remove control unit (5) together with holder.

Loosen screws (1).

Remove the longitudinal torque distribution control unit (2) from the holder (3).

Installation: 

Position the longitudinal torque distribution control unit (2) on the holder (3).

• Ensure correct cable routing.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 33 10 2AZ .

Position control unit (5) with holder on rear axle differential.

Tighten down screws (4).

Tightening torque 33 10 3AZ .

Attach connector (2).

Secure the cable (3) to the control unit bracket and connect the connector (1).

Position cross member (2) on rear axle support.

• Ensure correct installation position: Arrow (3) on the cross member points in the driving direction!

Replace screws (1).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 33 31 2AZ .

PROGRAM/ENCODE THE CONTROL UNIT .

Required follow-up work: 

• Load the individual data from the previous control unit to the new control unit.
