41 63 003 REPLACE COVER BOWL REP-REP-RAF4541-4163003 - V.4 (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove right REAR WHEEL .
• Remove rear right WHEEL ARCH COVER .
• Remove the FLAP FOR THE FUEL FILLER NECK .

Attention! 

Deformation of the sheet metal flanges in the side panel and the wheel arch results in permanent vehicle leakage. Carry out removal/installation with great vehicle care.

Following new body parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog):

• (1) Cover bowl
• Plastic nut for mounting fuel filler pipe

Removal: 

Press seal cup (1) through to the outside.

Unclip tank vent line (1).

Release nuts (2) and (3).

Slacken the fuel filler pipe (4).

Installation note: 

Renew plastic nut.

Lift out the retaining strap (1) and remove the lid.

Cut through protective tube in area (2) approx. 50 mm.

Pierce markings (3) with a small screwdriver.

Insert screwdriver to a depth of max. 5 mm to unlock cover housing detents.

Hold cover bowl slightly under tension in removal direction.

Unlock detents individually with screwdriver (1) in arrow direction.

Unlock catches in following order:

1. Top left
2. Bottom left
3. Top right
4. Bottom right

Shift screwdriver in opposite direction at both lower catches.

Press fuel filler pipe to rear.

Attention! 

Do not damage sheet metal flange of side wall.

Carefully unscrew the cover housing in arrow direction up to the position shown.

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) for actuator drive.

Remove cover pot.

Installation: 

Following parts of cover housing not be damaged or missing:

1. Marks
2. Detents, top/bottom
3. Spring
4. Catch
5. Lock

Clean contact surface  (1) on body and ground connection at fuel filler pipe.

The ground connection must be guaranteed.

Turn sealing sleeve in area of hinge inwards and hold.

Carefully insert cover housing up to the position shown and place sealing sleeve over fuel filler pipe.

Press fuel filler pipe to rear when doing this.

Connect plug connection (1) for the controller drive.

Install cover bowl.

Attention! 

Do not damage sheet metal flange of side wall.

Cover bowl must audibly snap into place 4 times.

There must be no visible gap between sealing lip and side panel in area (1).

Using installation aid (1), pull sealing lip (2) over sheet metal flange of wheel arch (3).

Check that sealing lip is correctly seated.

Check seat of fuel filler pipe for correct installation position and correct if necessary.

Tighten nuts (1) and (2).

Clip venting line (3) into holder.

Installation note: 

Renew plastic nut.

Tightening torque 16 11 1AZ .

Required follow-up work:

• Install FLAP FOR FUEL FILLER NECK .
• Installing the REAR WHEEL ARCH COVER on the right
• Install the right REAR WHEEL .
