41 61 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID REP-REP-RAF5641-4161000 - V.5 (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

WARNING: Injury hazard!
Use suitable tool to support hood in the fully opened position.
Removal of the engine compartment lid must be carried out with the assistance of a second person.

IMPORTANT: These instructions only apply to vehicles without active pedestrian protection!
Observe separate procedure for vehicles with ACTIVE PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION !

For stripping and rebuilding operations, refer to surrounding texts on KSD (FRU number 41 61 000).

Necessary preliminary work

Disconnect all cable connectors
Disconnect the hose pipe for the washer system on the clutch

Removal

DISENGAGE gas spring (1) on left and right from engine compartment lid.

Slacken nuts (2) on left and right.

Release nuts (3) on left and right.

Remove engine compartment lid and set down on a suitable surface.

Installation

Install engine compartment lid with a second person helping. Tighten the nuts (2) and (3) on the left and right.

Tightening torque 41 61 1AZ .

ENGAGE gas spring (1) on left and right on engine compartment lid.

Installation note:

Install engine compartment lid at screw locations to on hinge.

Required follow-up work:

Connect all cable connectors
Connect the hose pipe for the washer system on the clutch
