71 60 051 Removing and installing/replacing complete trailer tow hitch (Countryman base FWD, Countryman S FWD, Countryman base ALL4 AWD, Countryman S ALL4 AWD, Countryman JCW ALL4 AWD)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove REAR BUMPER TRIM .

Removal: 

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove the trailer socket (2).

Unscrew the screws (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Remove the trailer tow hitch (3) with the help of a second person.

Installation: 

Properly position the trailer tow hitch (3) with a second person.

Tighten down nuts (2).

Tightening torque 71 60 1AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Properly position the trailer socket (2).

Tighten down nuts (1).

Tightening torque 71 60 4AZ .

Required reworking: 

• Install REAR BUMPER PANEL .
