Notes on panorama glass roof (initialization/standardization/learning of characteristic curve) (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)
Initialization comprises:
- Normalization
- Learning characteristic curve
The mechanical end positions are recorded and stored during standardization.
The characteristic curve is learned immediately after standardization.
When the characteristic curve is learned, the mechanical closing forces of the panorama glass roof are recorded and stored for correct operation of the crush guard.
Then carry out initialization:
- if the panorama glass roof has been mechanically shifted by means of the emergency actuator
- In the event of malfunctions, e.g. no one-touch mode, no opening or no comfort function possible
- after disengagement of the drive unit
- after repair work is carried out on the mechanism of the panorama glass roof
- after exchange of the control unit
WARNING:
There is no crush guard during initialization.
Ensure adequate voltage supply during initialization.
If necessary, recharge battery.

Calibration:
- Panorama glass roof can be initialized in every position
- Operate the switch during the entire process
- Operate and hold down the switch in the first of the two possible positions towards "Close"
- Open panorama glass roof closes and opens as required
- Continue operating the switch in this switch position
- Standardization occurs after approx. 10 sec.
Learning characteristic curve:
- Continue operating and holding switch in first position towards "Close" after standardization
- Panorama glass roof fully closes and opens
- Release the switch when the panorama glass roof is closed
NOTE:
- The entire process takes approx. 30 sec.
- Learning the characteristic curve is completed when the switch is released
- If the switch is released in the meantime, the entire procedure must be repeated
- On successful completion of initialization, the corresponding check control messages extinguish
- Carry out functional check (one-touch mode, anti-trapping protection and, if necessary, comfort function)
