Adjusting/replacing bump stops (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Prerequisite: Trunk lid correctly adjusted.

Following parts must not be damaged:

Check for correct setting of stop pad:

Insert a strip of paper (normal writing paper) between stop pad and stop on body.
Close trunk lid. Make sure that the paper strip remains between stop pad and stop.
The stop pad is correctly adjusted when the paper strip can be pulled out "with slight resistance".

Adjust stop pads:

Screw in stop pad (1) until the paper strip can be easily pulled out.

Then unscrew the stop pad (1) again until the paper strip cannot be pulled out any more.

Screw in stop pad (1) until the paper strip offers a slight resistance when pulled out.

Remove stop pads:

Remove the housing (2) by rotating it 60° counterclockwise.
