65 12 315 Removing and installing (replacing) HU-H) (Cooper 4-door hatchback and Cooper 2-door hatchback, 2020-2023)
Attention!
Risk of damage!
A hard disk is installed in the head unit.
Carry out mechanical work on the headunit and adjacent components with vehicle care.
Avoid subjecting the headunit to vibration/shocks.
Attention!
Read and comply with NOTES on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection).
Preliminary work needed:
- Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
- REMOVING CONTROL PANEL FOR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING .
- Removing center left ventilation grille. Refer to 64 22 230 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CENTER LEFT FRESH AIR GRILLE (COOPER 4-DOOR HATCHBACK AND COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK, 2020-2023) or 64 22 230 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRESH AIR GRILLE ON CENTER LEFT (COOPER 4-DOOR HATCHBACK AND COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK, 2020-2023) .
- Removing center right ventilation grille. Refer to 64 22 235 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CENTER RIGHT FRESH AIR GRILLE (COOPER 4-DOOR HATCHBACK AND COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK, 2020-2023) or 64 22 235 REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE FRESH AIR GRILLE, CENTER, RIGHT (COOPER 4-DOOR HATCHBACK AND COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK, 2020-2023) .
REMOVAL:
Unscrew the screws (1).
Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1).
Feed out the headunit (2) towards the top.
INSTALLATION:
Feed in the headunit (2) from top to bottom.
Connect and lock all the connectors (1).
Tighten down screws (1).
Only for US version with satellite radio:
Additional work is required when replacing the headunit!
- Refer to REPLACING SDARS, AS OF 09/2009 .
Required follow-up work:
- INSTALLING CONTROL PANEL FOR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM .
- Installing CENTER LEFT VENTILATION GRILLE .
- Installing CENTER RIGHT VENTILATION GRILLE .
- Connect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
Replacement:
Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .
ON VEHICLES WITH A PRODUCTION DATE AS FROM 07/2015, INSTALL THE CORRECT NAVIGATION MAP .
