Fuel leakages when fuel lines are detached.
Have a suitable collecting vessel ready.
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Attention!
Ensure that the workstation is adequately ventilated!
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves)!
Preliminary work needed:
- Vacuum FUEL OUT OF THE FUEL TANK .
- Open gas cap.
- Remove the right rear WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL (front section).
- Remove the right rear UNDERBODY PANELING .
Removal:
Attention!
To unlock/lock or disconnect/connect the fuel line with a quick connector, no tool must be used.
To unlock snap fastener (1) on the fuel line, follow the instructions given below.
Press in locks (1) and (2) in the arrow direction.
Disconnect fuel lines (1) and (2) in arrow directions.
Release hose clamp (1) and detach filling hose (2) from fuel tank.
Unlock and disconnect snap fastener (1).
Release plastic nut at oil filler pipe.
Unlock and disconnect snap fastener (1).
Unscrew nut (2).
Feed out and remove fuel filler pipe (3).
Installation:
Attention!
To unlock/lock or disconnect/connect the fuel line with a quick connector, no tool must be used.
Installation of a new fuel line:
When installing a new fuel line, ensure that lock (1) protrudes.
Insert fuel line (2) into fuel line (1).
Insert the fuel line (2) into the fuel line (1) beyond the click of the first, white lock.
Lock the red lock (1) in the arrow direction.
Lock (1) can be locked only if the fuel lines are connected correctly.
Check to ensure that snap fastener (1) locks in place correctly.
The snap fastener must snap in so that your can feel and hear it.
A tensile sample is not permitted!
Assembly of an existing fuel line:
When installing a fuel line that has already been installed, the red lock (1) is already pressed down.
Slide fuel line (2) into fuel line (1) in the arrow direction until the two locks lock audibly.
Check to ensure that snap fastener (1) locks in place correctly.
The snap fastener must snap in so that your can feel and hear it.
A tensile sample is not permitted!
Feed in fuel filler pipe (3).
Insert nut (2) and tighten.
Position snap fastener (1) and lock.
Position snap fastener (1) and lock.
Position plastic nut at oil filler pipe and tighten.
Mount the fuel filler hose (2) on the fuel tank.
Parts: Hose clamp
Tighten hose clamp (1).
Tightening torque 16 11 3AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Remove the right rear WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL (front section).
- Remove the right rear UNDERBODY PANELING .
