34 51 527 Removing and installing/replacing DSC hydraulic unit (Cooper 4-door hatchback and Cooper 2-door hatchback, 2020-2023)
Preliminary work needed:
- Read and comply with GENERAL NOTES .
- REMOVING THE RIGHT WINDSHIELD PANEL COVER .
Removal:
Press brake pedal down to floor and secure with pedal support.
NOTE:
The pedal support may only be released when the brake lines are reconnected.
This prevents brake fluid from emerging from the expansion tank and air from entering the system when the brake lines are opened.

Disconnect plug connection (1).
IMPORTANT:
Do not mix up brake lines and if necessary mark prior to removal.
Close off connecting bores with seal plugs.
Brake lines must not be bent.
Close off connecting bores with seal plugs.
Brake lines must not be bent.
Unfasten brake lines (2).
Release screw (3) and remove hydraulic unit (4).
Installation:
Install hydraulic unit (4).
Fit bolt (3) and tighten.
Tightening torque 34 51 2AZ .
Fit brake lines (2) and tighten.
Tightening torque 34 32 1AZ .
Connect plug connection (1).
Remove pedal support.
Required follow-up work:
- Installing the right WINDSHIELD PANEL COVER .
- Vent brake system. Refer to 34 00 025 REPLACING FLUID IN DSC BRAKE SYSTEM (COOPER 4-DOOR HATCHBACK AND COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK 2020-2023, EXCEPT JCW GP) or 34 00 025 REPLACING FLUID IN DSC BRAKE SYSTEM (COOPER JCW GP 2-DOOR HATCHBACK)
- Adjustment of steering angle sensor.
- Functional check - hydraulic unit.
Replacement:
- Carry out programming/coding.
