52 26 011 Removing and installing/replacing the backrest for the left rear seat (Cooper 2-door hatchback models, 2020-2023)

Attention! 

• Microencapsulated screws must be coated with Loctite if they are to be reused
• Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of harden)
• Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened.
• Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use

Preliminary work needed: 

Only F55: 

• Remove the REAR SEAT .

Removal: 

Only F55: 

Release screw (1) of the strap fitting (2).

Remove end lining (2).

Unlock and fold both rear seat backrests.

Lift off cover (1).

Release screw (1).

Take off holder (2).

Put up rear seat backrest (1) at an angle of approx. 45°.

Feed out frame (2) of rear seat backrest (1) upwards out of mounting (3) firstly at the center.

Guide the frame (2) of the backrest (1) out of the guide (4) toward the center of the vehicle.

Installation: 

Guide the backrest (1) into the guide (4) at an angle of approximately 45°.

Guide the frame (2) of the backrest (1) into the mount (3).

Feed in holder (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 52 26 2AZ .

Clip in cover (1).

Fold up and lock both rear seat backrests.

Only F55: 

Mount end lining (2).

Replace screw (1).

Tighten screw (1) of the strap fitting (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 22AZ .
