- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Adjust the front seat fully to the rear.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Adjust the front seat fully to the front.
- Loosen screws (1).
Disconnecting all battery ground leads

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Cover the door sill using protective covers.
- Place the front seat fully to the rear and disconnect the plug connector (1).

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Remove the front seat with the assistance of an support person.
For continuing work on the front seat: Mount the front seat on the universal seat mount and connect with the wiring harness if necessary

- Fit special tool 2 473 334 onto special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300)
. CAUTION: Heavy component.
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Mount the front seat onto the special tool 2 473 334.
- To ensure a professional repair, it is recommended to use the special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300) and 2 473 334.

Only use the following steps if the front seat has to be adjusted electrically.

- In order to adjust the front seat in a removed state, connect the special tool 0 496 519 (61 4 150) with the vehicle wiring harness and
the removed front seat.
- Connect special tool 0 496 519 (61 4 150) to the wiring harness of the vehicle and the removed front seat to adjust the front seat.
