34 52 535 Replacing a rear pulse sensor (Cooper 4-door hatchback and Cooper 2-door hatchback, 2020-2023)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Removing the rear WHEEL .
• Partially detaching the rear ARCH PANEL .

Removal: 

Take the cable out of the holder (1).

Release screw (2) and remove pulse sensor (3).

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Disengage cable from holders (2).

Installation: 

Clean hole for pulse sensor and grease with Staburags NBU 12/K lubricating grease, BMW part# 83 23 9 407 810 .

Attach brake pad wear sensor in the holders (2).

Connect plug connection (1).

Install cable in holder (1).

Install pulse sensor (3).

Fit bolt (2) and tighten.

Tightening torque 34 51 5AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Installing the rear arch ARCH PANEL .
• Mounting the rear WHEEL .
