52 26 413 Removing and installing/replacing backrest cover for left or right rear seat (Cooper 2-door hatchback models, 2020-2023)
Special tools required:

The seat frame has very sharp edges that can cause injuries from cuts.
Exercise extreme caution and wear work gloves as required when carrying out any repair work in the area of the seat frame.
Preliminary work needed:
- REMOVING REAR PANEL ON REAR SEAT BACKREST, LEFT OR RIGHT .
- REMOVING GUIDE SLEEVES FOR LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINT .
Removal:
Press seat cover and upholstery slightly to one side.
Unclip cover (1) by releasing detents (2) and remove.
Equipment specification with center safety belt:
Remove screw (1).
Detach seat belt finisher strip (2) upwards.
Feed out seat belt strap (3) from seat belt finisher strip (2).
Lever out welt (1).
Feed out backrest frame (1) from seat cover and remove.
Detaching cover from upholstery:
- Disconnect all clamps in marked area
- Remove cover from upholstery
- Remove all remnants of guard controls from cover and padding
Installation:
Pull seat cover over upholstery and mount clamps in marked area.
Parts:
Replace upholstery clamps.
Insert new clamp (2) with special tool 52 0 050 and bend closed.

- Trim wire in upholstery
- Trim wire in seat cover
- Seat cover
Parts:
Replace upholstery clamps.
Feed in backrest frame (1) into seat cover.
Attach welt (1).
Equipment specification with center safety belt:
Feed seat belt strap (3) into seat belt finisher strip (2).
Clip in seat belt finisher strip (2) from above.
Tighten screw (1).
Clip in cover (1).
Ensure that detents (2) correctly engage.
