Replacing Left Or Right D-Pillar Reinforcement (Tail Panel And Rear Quarter Panel Removed) Rep-Rep-RAF5541-4121XXX - V.3 (Cooper 4-Door Hatchback, 2020-2023)

Procedure OBSERVE repair stage 3!

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER for repairs!

The following new parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog):

Inner D-pillar reinforcement
Inner D-pillar

Removal

Open welded connections in area (1).

Mark severance cut in accordance with dimension and cut.

Attention!

Cut outer metal panel only.

Dimension a = approx. 30 mm from 6.5 mm dia. hole.

Remove the reinforcement of the D-pillar.

New part preparation

Mark and cut the severance cut on new part as per the severance cut on the vehicle.

Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATE at severance cut.

Prepare new parts for joining by welding.

Adjust new parts in combination with tail panel and side panel.

NOTE: The tail panel serves as a positioning aid in this operation and during installation. The new parts are not welded to the tail panel during installation. The joining of the tail panel takes place via the bonded rivet technology.

Installation

Install new parts in combination with tail panel.

Weld new parts in areas (1).

NOTE: Do not weld new parts to tail panel.
