41 14 502 Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section With Reinforcement (Rear Quarter Panel Removed) Rep-Rep-RAF5541-4114502 - V.1 (Cooper 4-Door Hatchback, 2020-2023)

Follow procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

For stripping and rigging operations, refer to surrounding texts on KSD CD (FRU number 41 14 502).

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER for repairs!

The following new parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog):

Removal:

Remove cavity sealing (1).

IMPORTANT: Cut outer panel only.

Mark the severance cut (2) according to the schematic diagram and cut.

Open the welded connections in area (3) and remove the C-pillar reinforcement.

NOTE: The cavity sealing (1) is reused.

Remove cavity sealing (1).

Open welded connections in areas (2).

LOOSEN spot-welded adhesive joints in area (3).

Remove outer section of wheel arch.

NOTE: The cavity sealing (1) is reused.

Preparation of new part:

Mark separating cut on reinforcement for C-pillar (new part center side frame) as per separating cut on vehicle and cut.

Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATE at severance cut.

Remove adhesive residues in the area (1).

Prepare new parts for joining through welding and adapt in combination with side panel.

Installation:

Install new part and weld in area (1).

Apply sealant to CAVITY SEALING . Install cavity sealing (2).

Install new part and reinforcement plate and weld in areas (1).

Apply sealant to cavity sealing. Install cavity sealing (2).
