51 71 096 Removing and installing/replacing the automatic air flap control (Cooper 4-door hatchback and Cooper 2-door hatchback 2020-2023, except EV)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove front BUMPER COVER .
• Remove impact absorber from support

Removal: 

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten cable tie (2).

Unscrew the screws (1).

Feed out the air flap control (2) in area (3) and remove the support.

Installation: 

Feed in air flap control (2) and suspend in the support in area (3).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 71 6AZ .

Connect the connector (1).

Attach cable clip (2).

Required follow-up work: 

• Install impact absorber on support
• Install front BUMPER COVER .
