51 43 002 Removing and installing (replacing) rear left or right side trim panel (Cooper 2-door hatchback models 2020-2023, except JCW GP)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Fold rear seat backrest
• Remove REAR SEAT .
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR DOOR PILLAR  (B-pillar)
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR  (C-pillar)
• Release luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel in area of side trim panel. Refer to 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH TRIM (COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK MODELS 2020-2023, EXCEPT JCW GP)  and 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH PANEL (COOPER 2-DOOR HATCHBACK MODELS 2020-2023, EXCEPT JCW GP) 

Removal: 

Remove screw (1).

If necessary, release edge protection (2) in area of side trim panel.

Remove screw (1).

If necessary, release edge protection (2) in area of side trim panel.

Release side trim panel (1) inward towards clip (2) and clamp (3).

If necessary, unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.

Feed out side trim panel (1).

Replacement: 

Remove TWEETER .

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2) and clamps (3).

Feed in side trim panel (1).

If necessary, connect related plug connections.

First attach the side trim panel (1) to the clamp (3), and then attach it to the clip (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Make sure edge protection (2) is correctly seated.

Required reworking: 

• Install REAR SEAT .
• Install TRIM PANEL FOR DOOR PILLAR  (B-pillar)
• Install TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR  (C-pillar)
• Install TRUNK WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
