Clean the sealing surface (1) at the oil pan with the special tools 0 495 103 (11 4 471) and 0 495 104 (11 4 472) .

The processing time of the liquid sealing compound can be at a maximum of 10 min.
Commissioning of the assembly is not possible until 25 minutes after the processing time.
Non-observance can lead to leaks in the assembly.

Apply sealing compound without replacing the lower front timing gear case cover:
Apply a sealing bead along the inner edge (1) of the oil pan.
Completely surround the oil return orifice (arrow) with the sealing compound.
No sealant may enter the oil return orifice.

Apply sealing compound after replacing the lower front timing gear case cover:
Apply a sealing bead along the inner edge (1) of the oil pan.

Sealing bead (1) must overlap the seal (2) of the timing gear case cover by approx. 5 mm.
Completely surround the oil return orifice with the sealing compound.
The sealant must not enter the oil return orifice.

TECHNICAL DATA SPECIFICATION

2.0 mm... 2.5 mm

Fix oil sump within the prescribed processing time of the sealing compound.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The special tool 11 8 780 is only required when the transmission is removed.

Position the special tool 0 496 120 (11 8 780) with the transmission bolts (1) in such a way that the oil pan aligns exactly with the timing case cover.
Replace the centering sleeves where required.

Improper screw length can cause component damage
The use of screws of improper length can lead to component damage

Note the correct screw length.
Install screws that correspond to the original length.

Make sure that the correct screw (2) (M8x40) is used to attach the oil pan to the transmission.
The screw (1) (mounting bolt of the starter motor) must never be used to attach the oil pan.
Thread in the oil pan carefully and position.
Tighten the screws (2) to (17) of the oil pan.

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Tighten transmission screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Transmission to oil sump
M8	Tightening torque	19 Nm

Insert and install the holder (3).
Tighten down screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Holder to oil pan
M12	Tightening torque	100 Nm

Tighten down screw (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Holder to front axle support
M12	Tightening torque	100 Nm

Secure the positive battery cable (4) at the clamps (5).
Connect connectors (3) and lock.
Make sure the connector (3) engages audibly.
Insert and install the holder (2).
Tighten down screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

M6	Tightening torque	8 Nm
