Removing and installing/replacing the adapter for exhaust turbocharger (B46, B48) (Cooper S and John Cooper Works)

Special tools required: 

• 11 4 470

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove CLEAN AIR PIPE .
• Remove RIGHT CHARGE AIR DUCT .

Removal: 

Loosen screws (1).

Feed out and remove the adapter (1) for the exhaust turbocharger.

Preparation for installation: 

Clean the sealing surface (1) with the special tool 11 4 470.

Check the sealing rings (1) on the adapter (2) for the exhaust turbocharger for damage, replace the adapter (2) for the exhaust turbocharger if necessary.

Installation: 

Feed in and install the adapter (1) for the exhaust turbocharger.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque: 11 65 3AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install RIGHT CHARGE AIR DUCT .
• Install CLEAN AIR PIPE .
