Install catalytic converter

Preparing the catalytic converter 

• Replace seal (1) on catalytic converter.

• Hand-tighten nuts (1).

• Replace the V-clip (1).

  Parts:  V-band clamp

• Feed in and install V-band clamp (1) on the catalytic converter (2).
• Tighten V-clip (1).
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  V-ribbon clip of catalytic converter to exhaust turbocharger
  V-band clamp Replace V-band clamp.	Tightening torque	13 Nm

• Tighten nuts (1).

  Catalytic converter to holder
  M8 Replace nuts.	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Check rubber mount (1) for damage, replace if necessary.

  Parts:  Rubber mount

• Connect rubber mount (1) to the catalytic converter.

• Feed in and install the heat shield (2).
• Tighten nuts (1).

  Heat shield to body
  Sheet metal nut	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm

• Feed into top exhaust duct (2) and install.
• Tighten down screw (1).

• Feed into bottom exhaust duct (2) and install.

• Fit and install the heat shield (1) on the exhaust turbo charger, top.
• Make sure that the heat shield (1) is correctly positioned on the heat shield (2).

• Fit and secure the coolant line (2) to the holder (3).

  If installed: Installing the differential pressure sensor with the pressure line 

• Use the special tool 5 A19 557  for tightening the union nut.

  Feed in and install the pressure line (2) in the holder (3).

  Tighten the union nut (1) with the special tool 5 A19 557

• Guide in and install differential pressure sensor (4).
• Tighten down screw (3).

• Replace pressure hose (2)

  Parts:  Pressure hose

• Connect pressure hose (2) to differential pressure sensor (4).
• Connect connectors (1) and lock.

  The connector (1) must engage audibly.

• Guide in and install cover (2).
• Lock the detents (1).

  The detents (1) must engage audibly.
