61 31 068 Removing and installing/replacing switch for front passenger airbag deactivation

WARNING: Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt pretensioners.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE
Remove SIDE PANEL ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ON RIGHT

Removal:

Unlock both latch mechanisms on switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1).

Remove the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) from the cover (2).

Installation:

Join the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) and the cover (2).

NOTE: Make sure the switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) is correctly positioned and has engaged with the latch mechanisms of the cover (2).
