Removing and installing complete bearing bracket for foot pedal (automatic transmission) (Cooper)
Preliminary work needed:
- Read and comply with GENERAL INFORMATION .
Removal:
Remove screws (1) and remove footwell air duct (2).
Detach retaining clip (1) from brake pedal, disengage and pull out retaining bolt (2).
Unscrew nuts (1).
Disconnect plug connection (1) on brake light switch.
Undo nut (2) and remove bearing bracket (3).
Installation:
Install bearing bracket (3).
Fit nut (2) and tighten.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Parts : Nut
Tightening torque 35 11 1AZ .
Connect plug connection (1) on brake light switch.
Insert nuts (1) and tighten.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Parts : Nut
Tightening torque 35 11 1AZ .
Grease retaining bolt (1) with lubricating grease NBU 12K (part number: 83 23 9 407 810 ).
Install retaining bolt (1) through brake pedal.
Mount retaining clip (2) on retaining bolt.
Replace retaining clip (2).

Install footwell air duct (2).
Insert screws (1) and tighten.
