Removing and installing/replacing actuator drive for fresh/recirculated air flap

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove bottom right DASHBOARD TRIM PANEL .

Removal: 

Loosen the screw (1) and feed out the air duct (2) downwards.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Unlock associated plug connection and disconnect.

Remove actuator drive with holder (2).

Replacement: 

Remove screw (1).

Unlock detents (2).

Remove actuator drive (3).

Installation: 

Position actuator drive (3).

Lock detents (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Correctly position actuator drive with holder (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

Join and lock associated plug connection.

Feed in the air duct (2) and correctly engage at heating and air-conditioning unit.

Tighten screw (1).

Addressing can only be carried out with the BMW diagnostic system.

Service functions: 

• Body
• Heating/air conditioning function
• Flap motor
• Readdress flap motors

Required reworking: 

• Install bottom right instrument panel TRIM PANEL .
