72 12 004 Removing and installing/replacing airbag module for driver's knee protection

A damaged head airbag must be replaced.
A damaged head airbag exhibits an impaired protective function and in extreme cases loses its protective function altogether.

Removal:
Unscrew the screws (1).
Remove airbag module (2) downwards.
Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).
Remove airbag module.
Installation:
Connect the connector (1).
Position airbag module (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
NOTE:
Replace screws (1).
Tightening torque 72 12 2AZ .
NOTE:
Make sure airbag module (1) is correctly fitted on guides (2).
