61 31 310 Replacing brake light switch

Preliminary work needed:

Remove LOWER INSTRUMENT TRIM PANEL FROM DASHBOARD

Removal:

NOTE: Brake light switch (2) is situated above the brake pedal.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Pull brake light switch (2) in arrow direction out of brake light switch holder (3).

Push the detents (4) together and unclip the brake light switch holder (3) from the brake pedal.

Installation:

NOTE: Brake light switch (2) is situated above the brake pedal.

Press brake pedal.

Clip in brake light switch holder (3) into brake pedal.

NOTE: Make sure detent (4) for brake light switch holder (3) is correct.

Push brake light switch (2) as far as it will go into brake light switch holder (3).

Counter support brake light switch holder (3), then slowly move back brake pedal to initial position and pull back up to stop.

Connect the connector (1).
