11 78 510 Removing and installing/replacing control sensor (B36A/B38A)

Special tools required: 

• 11 7 020

Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove CLEAN AIR PIPE

Removal: 

Unclip connector (1) of control sensor from holder.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) of the control sensor.

Release cable of control sensor from bracket (1).

Release control sensor (1) with special tool 11 7 020 .

Installation: 

Installation note: 

If an oxygen sensor is reused, thinly and evenly coat only the thread with use NEVER-SEEZ COMPOUND (4.3) .

The part of the oxygen control sensor which projects into the exhaust branch (sensor ceramic) must not be cleaned or come into contact with lubricant.

Screw in control sensor (1) and tighten with special tool 11 7 020 .

Tightening torque: 11 78 1AZ .

Clip cable of control sensor into holder (1).

Connect connector (1) of control sensor and clip into holder.
