11 28 010 Replace drive belt for alternator (B36A/B38A)

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage to the vibration absorber if the exact installation position is not observed.
Running the engine without a drive belt is not permitted.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove RIGHT CHARGE-AIR DUCT

Removal:

NOTE: If the drive belt is to be reused, the direction of rotation must be marked.

Release expanding rivet (1).

Remove acoustic cover (2) towards bottom.

Safety information:

Danger of injury when tensioning or releasing the drive belt.

Turn belt tensioner (1) in direction of arrow at bolt (2) with a suitable tool and hold in position.

Remove drive belt (3).

Slowly relieve tension on belt tensioner.

Danger of injury when tensioning or releasing the drive belt.

NOTE: Observe direction of rotation of drive belt.

Turn belt tensioner (1) in direction of arrow at bolt (2) with a suitable tool and hold in position.

Position drive belt (3).

Slowly relieve tension on belt tensioner.

Install acoustic cover (2) from below.

Fasten the expanding rivet (1).
