11 36 658 Removing and installing/replacing both actuators (B36A/B38A)

Special tools required: 

• 2 360 895

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove ACOUSTIC COVER 
• Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING

Removal: 

Release clamps (1).

Remove clean air pipe (2).

Unlock the cable routing (1) in the marked areas and pull it off the cylinder head cover in upward direction.

Release and disconnect the connector (1) for the intake actuator.

Release and disconnect the connector (2) for the exhaust actuator.

Twist the intake actuator (1) with special tool 2 360 895 approx. 50° in the direction of arrow and remove.

Twist the exhaust actuator (1) with special tool 2 360 895 approx. 50° in the direction of arrow and remove.

Installation: 

Position exhaust actuator (1) and turn in the direction of arrow with special tool 2 360 895 , until the limit position lies against the clamp.

Position intake actuator (1) and turn in the direction of arrow with special tool 2 360 895 , until the limit position lies against the clamp.

Connect the connector (1) for the intake actuator.

Connect the connector (2) for the exhaust actuator.

Clip the cable routing (1) into the cylinder head cover from the top.

Make sure that the locks in the marked areas are correctly locked.

Install clean air pipe (2) and fasten with clamps (1).

Required follow-up work: 

• Check engine function and check for leak tightness
