24 21 516 Replacing radial shaft seal for drive shaft (AISIN F21FT)

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove GEARBOX
Remove TORQUE CONVERTER

Removal:

Punch a hole in radial shaft seal (1) at position (2) with center punch.

IMPORTANT: Do not use a drill as shavings may result in transmission malfunction.
Screw special tool 23 0 490 into radial shaft seal (1).
Drive radial shaft seal (1) out with impact weight (3).

Installation:

Clean sealing surface.

Coat sealing lip of radial shaft seal with clean transmission oil.

Slide radial shaft seal (1) onto special tool 2 358 818 and drive in up to limit position.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage radial shaft seal (1).
