33 52 012 Replacing rear left or right side shock absorber

Special tools required: 

Attention  !

NOTE: Special procedure for EDC SHOCK ABSORBERS .

Necessary preliminary work: 

Removal: 

Remove protective cap (1).

Remove gasket (2).

Release nut (1) with special tool 2 355 965 and 2 355 966 .

Remove spring strut mounting (2).

Impact screwdrivers are prohibited!

Risk of damage inside the shock absorber  !

Remove gasket (2).

Installation: 

Where applicable and if available, remount stoneguard (1).

Replace auxiliary damper with protective tube (3).

Connect additional absorber with protective tube (3) onto shock absorber.

Connect gasket (2) and support bearing (1).

Replace nut (1).

Screw on nut (1) and tighten with special tool 2 355 965 and 2 355 966 .

Tightening torque 33 52 3AZ .

Impact screwdrivers are prohibited!

Risk of damage inside the shock absorber  !

NOTE: The seal (2) can be omitted or must not be installed again!

Check protective cap (1) for damage.

Replace protective cap (1) if necessary.

Mount protective cap (1).
