34 31 500 Removing and installing/replacing tandem brake master cylinder

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary work: 

IMPORTANT:

Before beginning the repair, fully press the brake pedal several times to reduce the vacuum in the brake servo.

Do not  bend brake lines.

Close off brake lines and tandem brake master cylinder with seal plugs 32 1 270 .

Unfasten brake lines (1).

Release nuts (2) and feed tandem brake master cylinder out of brake servo.

Installation: 

Replace sealing ring (1).

Check rubber plugs (2) and replace if necessary.

When inserting the tandem brake master cylinder (1) into the brake servo, make sure the anti-roll bar link of the brake servo and the tandem brake master cylinder meet each other on one level.

Insert nuts (2) and tighten.

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque 34 31 1AZ .

Insert brake lines (1) and tighten down.

Tightening torque 34 32 1AZ .

Required follow-up work:
