72 11 041 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right lower strap

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Removal: 

Cut open cable strap (1).

Unlock latch mechanisms and feed out connector (2) from connector housing (3) in direction of arrow.

Detach cable (1) from seat mechanism.

Release clip (1) from seat mechanism.

Release screw (2).

Remove lower strap fitting (3).

Installation: 

Mount lower strap (3) on seat mechanism.

NOTE: Lower strap is encoded against incorrect assembly (3).

Replace screw (2).

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 5AZ .

Mount cable with clip (1) to seat mechanism.

Feed in cable (1) to seat mechanism.

Feed in connector (1) into connector housing (2).

NOTE: Ensure correct locking.

Secure cable to connector housing (2) with cable strap (3).
