32 33 010 Removing and installing (replacing) sports steering wheel/steering wheel

NOTE:
Chassis/wheel alignment is not
necessary after the steering wheel has been removed and installed or replaced.
Necessary preliminary tasks :
- Remove AIRBAG UNIT .
Removal :
Move wheels/steering wheel into straight-ahead driving position.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release screw (2)
Remove steering wheel.
Installation :
NOTE:
There are clock springs installed with and without a mechanical anti-twist lock.
Clock spring without mechanical anti-twist lock:
(recognizable at the inspection glass for the mark of the neutral position)
Clock spring without mechanical anti-twist lock:
(recognizable at the inspection glass for the mark of the neutral position)
- Do not twist the clock spring.
- Check zero position of clock spring on steering column switch cluster.
- Neutral position is correct only when the green or yellow mark (1) is clearly visible!
Replacement:
- If necessary, remount SHIFT PADDLES .
- Remount MULTIFUNCTION STEERING WHEEL SWITCH/SPOKE COVERS .
- Remount bottom sports STEERING WHEEL COVER .
Connect steering wheel.
Tighten down screws (2).
Tightening torque 32 33 1AZ .
Insert connector (1).
Installation note :
Make sure connecting line(s) is/are correctly laid.
Required follow-up work :
- Install AIRBAG UNIT .
