11 78 610 Removing and installing/replacing monitoring sensor (B48, B46)

WARNING: Risk of burning !
Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove CLEAN AIR PIPE

Removal:

Unclip connector (1) of monitoring sensor from holder.

Unlock connector (1) of monitoring sensor and disconnect.

Release cable of monitoring sensor from bracket inside the marked area.

Slightly bend up heat protection film (1).

Release monitoring sensor (2) with special tool 11 7 020 .

Installation:

Installation note:

If an oxygen sensor is reused, thinly and evenly coat only the thread with NEVER-SEEZ COMPOUND 4.3 .

The part of the oxygen control sensor which projects into the exhaust branch (sensor ceramic) must not be cleaned or come into contact with lubricant.

Screw in monitoring sensor (2) and tighten down with special tool 11 7 020 .

Tightening torque: 11 78 1AZ .

Properly install heat protection film (1).

Attach connector (1) of monitoring sensor and clip into holder.

Clip in cable of monitoring sensor on bracket inside the marked area.
