63 14 020 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right side marker light

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Follow the SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS  for handling bulbs/light sources (exterior lights).
NOTE: Minimum object temperature of the side marker light and the wheel arch cover ≥ 18°C.
If this temperature is not achieved, the components must be preheated.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Removal: 

Unlock and disconnect connector.

Carefully heat up the side marker light (1) in this area (3) using a hot air blower and loosen it from the wheel arch cover (2) with special tool 00 9 325 .

NOTE: Side marker light (1) cannot be reused.

Installation: 

Clean bumper panel: 

To clean, use a lint-free disposable cloth or a clean cleaning cloth.

Clean the bonding surface of the wheel arch cover using spirit.

Air drying time at least 1 minute.

Do not grip bonding surface.

Loosen the liner* (1) and slightly press the side marker light (2) onto the wheel arch cover.

* Liner is the protective film on new side marker lights.

Check position and if necessary, realign side marker light (1).

Firmly press the side marker light (1) onto the wheel arch cover (2).

The minimum contact pressure is achieved by firmly pressing your thumbs or the balls of your hands over the entire bonding surface (3) (holding time approx. 1 second).

Firm thumb pressure approx. 35 N/cm2.

Connect the connector (1).
