22 31 001 Replacing rubber mount for transmission mounting

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove VEHICLE BATTERY .
• Secure ENGINE IN INSTALLATION POSITION .
• Remove LINK FRONT WHEEL .
• Remove front left WHEEL ARCH COVER

Removal: 

Release screws (1).

Release vehicle battery support (2) from bracket and remove.

Release control unit (3) from bracket.

Detach wiring harness (4) from battery tray (5).

Remove battery tray (5).

Unfasten screws (2).

Release screws (1).

Release screw (1) in wheel arch.

Remove transmission mount.

Installation: 

Install transmission mount.

Tighten screw (1) in wheel arch.

Tightening torque 22 32 3AZ .

Attention  !

Before installation, check the threaded holes on the transmission for damage.

If the threaded holes are damaged, install HELICOIL insert M10x25 (part number 33 30 6 782 756).

Failure to comply with this instruction will result in serious damage to the transmission.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 22 32 2AZ .

Tighten down screws (2).

Parts:  Replace screws (2).

Tightening torque 22 32 1AZ .

Install battery tray (5).

Tighten down screws (1).

Install wiring harness (4) on battery tray (5).

Insert control unit (3) in bracket.

Insert vehicle battery support (2) in bracket.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install FRONT LEFT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
• Install LEFT FRONT WHEEL .
• Install VEHICLE BATTERY .
