Repair the convertible top fabric using the repair kit (Cooper Convertible)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2021 MINI Cooper, 2020 MINI Cooper, 2019 MINI Cooper, 2018 MINI Cooper, and 2017 MINI Cooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE: Install a repair kit with part number 7 276 922.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove outer WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP
Partially release SOFT TOP TRIM STRIP .

Remove gasket (1).

Loosen the clamp (1) and unclip the insert (2) towards the bottom.

NOTE: Use wing/fender cover.

Feed out insert (1) upward and place it on wing/fender cover.

Cut out metal insert (1) as shown with suitable tool.

Minimum distance, soft top cover trim 2 mm.

Cut out transport note (1) as shown.

Use a suitable tool to remove the adhesive residue (1) and (2) from the inner and outer side.

Pierce through positioning holes (1) with soft top with suitable tool.

Detach protective films (1) of adhesive tapes.

Rivet blind rivets (1) with washers (2).
