63 21 060 Replacing bulb socket for left or right tail light (Cooper Convertible)

WARNING: Follow instructions for handling LIGHT BULBS (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) .

Preliminary work needed:

Open cover in trunk SIDE TRIM PANEL .

Removal:

Release lock by pressing it together and remove bulb socket (1) from tail light (2).

Replacement only:

Remount bulbs (1-3).

Do this by carefully pressing bulb (1-3) into bulb socket (4) and turning counterclockwise.

Then pull out bulb (1-3) from light holder (4).

Insert bulb (1-3) into new bulb socket (4).

Then carefully press bulb (1-3) into light holder (4) and turn clockwise up to stop.

Installation:

Insert light holder (1) in tail light (2).

NOTE: Ensure light holder (1) is correctly fitted and locked in tail light (2).
