61 31 310 Replacing brake light switch

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove LOWER TRIM FROM INSTRUMENT PANEL

Removal:

NOTE: Brake light switch (2) is situated above the brake pedal.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Pull brake light switch (2) in direction of arrow out of brake light switch holder (3).

Push the latch mechanisms (4) together and unclip the brake light switch holder (3) from the brake pedal.

Installation:

NOTE: Brake light switch (2) is situated above the brake pedal.

Press brake pedal.

Clip in brake light switch holder (3) into brake pedal.

NOTE: Make sure latch mechanism (4) for brake light switch holder (3) is correct.

Push brake light switch (2) as far as it will go into brake light switch holder (3).

Counter support brake light switch holder (3), then slowly move back brake pedal to initial position and pull back up to limit position.

Connect the connector (1).
