61 14 035 Remove and install/replace power distribution box front positive battery cable

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove BATTERY

Removal:

Unlock power distribution box positive battery cable (1) on latch mechanism (2) and release from holder in direction of arrow.

Release upper housing section (1) from lower housing section (2) in direction of arrow and remove.

NOTE: Label positive pole flat cables to prevent incorrect assembly.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove positive pole flat cables (2) from power distribution box positive battery cable (5).

Unscrew nut (3).

Remove positive pole flat cable (4) from power distribution box positive battery cable (5).

Release middle part (1) of latch mechanisms and remove from power distribution box positive battery cable (2).

NOTE: Label positive pole flat cables to prevent incorrect assembly.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove positive pole flat cables (2) from power distribution box positive battery cable (3).

Installation:

Tighten positive pole flat cables (2) on power distribution box positive battery cable (3) with nuts (1).

Tightening torque 61 14 2AZ .

NOTE: Risk of short circuits !
Make sure positive pole flat cables (2) are fitted correctly.

Joint center section (1) in power distribution box positive battery cable (2).

NOTE: Ensure center section (1) is correctly fitted in power distribution box positive battery cable (2).

Tighten positive pole flat cable (4) on power distribution box positive battery cable (5) with nut (3).

Tightening torque 61 14 2AZ .

Tighten positive pole flat cables (2) on power distribution box positive battery cable (5) with nuts (1).

Tightening torque 61 14 1AZ .

NOTE: Risk of short circuits !
Ensure positive pole flat cables (2, 4) are fitted correctly.

NOTE: Retaining lugs on upper housing section (1) must not be damaged or missing.

Join upper housing section (1) in lower housing section (2) in direction of arrow.

NOTE: Ensure upper housing section engages correctly (1) engages correctly in lower housing section (2).

Join power distribution box positive battery cable (1) in holder in direction of arrow.

NOTE: Ensure correct latch mechanism (1) for power distribution box positive battery cable (2) in holder.
